We went on miss calabash 12hr gulf charter. Captain Kris and mate Trip put us on fish as soon as we put lines in. All of the other people were guys that go with Kris and Trip on a regular basis and said they always put them on fish. I would recommend anyone that wants to catch to go on The Miss Calabash.

Awesome crew! Caught a lot of non-keepers, including one super cool octopus, seas were a little rough and it was Rainey and cold....we were unusually unprepared... I was freezing, completely my fault, and first mate gave up his rain jacket so I could warm up and he was out in the rain too. That was a nice gesture!.... we had one sick member of the group and first mate helped as much as he could....these small attention to details shows how much care he and captain had for our small group... lack of fish was disappointing but nobody's fault. TS Ophelia was the next day. The trip was completely worth it. I dont understand the reviews...I guess I got the awesome crew :) . IF they were to cancel a trip its completely for safety reasons! If they leave with 10 people they want to return and return with all 10...people should understand they are looking out for you.... I loved the group from check in to going home it was great. Thank you guys!
Highly recommend taking this charter. Captain Chris and First mate Tripp will definitely get you some fish on the line. It's up to you rather or not you get them in the boat. Tripp does an outstanding job on taking care of the fisherman/fisherladies on the boat. He makes sure you have what you need to catch fish. I have taken this chapter for 8 to 10 years now and have never been disappointed with the results. Everyone including the office staff go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy the experience on and off the boat. Keep up the good work Miss Calabash and see you next time.
I’m going to give this experience a 5… The vibe and atmosphere was amazing. Rick is a whole vibe himself… I would love to be on the ship again with him and the captain. Trust me when I say we will be doing this again. Preferably the all day deep sea fishing.
The first mate Rich was the best part of the trip. I came with my sister, first time and her boyfriend-an experienced fisherman and it wasn't a good experience. IMO, the trip should have been canceled. Super rough waters, I just got splashed writing this... I was told 4 keepers the whole trip. More ppl threw up than keepers on the boat. You can scratch this outfit off my list. Calabash fishing lost me as a repeat customer...
Had a great time out on water. The crew was very patient and helpful with my novice wife. Would definitely go again, even though the fish weren't biting much this day (that's why they call it fishing and not catching).
Had the absolute best day ,Trip was the best deck hand I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. New everyone’s name on the boat like he knew us forever. We will definitely be scheduling another trip next time we’re in Myrtle.
We did a half day fishing trip with Calabash Fishing Fleet while we were on vacation in North Myrtle Beach, which was pretty fun. We caught a lot of black sea bass but none of them were big enough to be keeper's. The crew were super helpful and friendly, and made the fishing trip fun. After the trip was over they let out boys help clean some fish to finish off their fishing merit badge. We would definitely recommend going here if your looking to go out on a fishing trip.
